December Ministry Update

Wow, the end of the semester is already here! We had our last large group meeting for the semester this past week at Richland. We had the opportunity to do encouragements to each other with the prompt of, "How have you seen (name) be like Jesus?" Our students really took this to heart and it was great getting to see the community that God is developing on the Richland campus, and I am filled with gratitude for His people.

I wanted to give a shoutout to two of my guys that I study Focus on Jesus with. On the left is Fransisco and on the right is Valentine. They have been great guys to study the Bible with and are so willing to learn and apply scripture to their lives.

This is a picture of our Tuesday core at Richland, with some missing.

I have really seen my core challenging and spurring each other. There has been a great community of friendships that have developed and I am really encouraged by each and every one of them. They are always looking to participate in our core discussions and apply what they learn to their lives. I ask that you continue to pray for the work that God is doing on this campus, as well as the others.

Keep FOCUS Growing (KFG) is our annual year-end fundraiser. Last year, we were able to raise $40,000 to help plant a ministry at SMU, hire a full-time administrator, and print the Focus on Jesus booklets that help our students engage in scripture with each other. This year our goal is to raise $50,000 and already we have raised over $33,000 on Facebook for Giving Tuesday! This was all done in just one day, which is astounding to say the least, but this is all thanks to such a generous community of people that have a vision for the Kingdom and are wiling to participate in God's work on the DFW campuses. I invite you guys to pray for KFG and the work that is being done. If you would like to give in any amount you can go to this link: anyfocus.org/kfg

Pizza Theology 2017-2018

Pizza Theology was great this semester. We had a guest speaker, Bill Watson, come and talk over the Sermon on the Mount. Our students were really encouraged to think and grapple with the ideas that Jesus communicated. Many students communicated that they were really convicted and challenged on the way they viewed scripture. Very great experience getting to have the different campuses come together and learn about God's heart.

Parent Night

Parent Night was packed full and it was great getting to see the families worshiping together. It was so encouraging getting to hear the parents talk to the community and encourage our students. I was really happy to see that a couple of our Richland students brought their friends and family so that they could see what God is doing in their lives.

Thanks can never go without saying to all of our supporters, it is because of you that we are able to do so much. This semester has been a challenging, but a fruitful one in many ways. I ask that you keep Richland ministry in your prayers. We are trying to get funds approved by the campus to be able to financially assist our students to go to Winter Camp, which is fast approaching. We want to have as many students as possible come and take part in this spirit filled weekend.

Here is our student testimony for the month of December. Please take the time to read over it.
