January Ministry Update

2018 is here and I pray that it will be an even better year than last year for all of you. First and foremost I want to thank everyone for all of the support with our annual fundraiser Keep FOCUS Growing. Seeing just how fast and how much we raised was so neat because you get to see how many people share a vision for our community. It is amazing seeing a community come together and working for the kingdom. I'm sure that God will bless this money and grow our ministry further, with that I ask that you pray for this money and how it will touch people within our ministry!

So starting December off was a bit stressful, but very fun. Dawn, one of my fellow apprentices, and I got to plan and coordinate the Christmas party for the Dallas campuses. We had almost no experience planning something of that magnitude, but we left with more tools to put in our tool bag. It was so encouraging having the staff help us our with ideas and see it come to success. Seeing the smiles on all our students faces, and how they were enjoying being in fellowship was more than I could have hoped for!!!

We also had a Christmas devotional that we decided to have outside at the Plinth, I know crazy, but it was great amidst the problems that popped up. Was it freezing cold? Yes. Did we have problems with the water for hot chocolate? Oh definitely. Did the power go out at some point? Sadly haha, but did our students enjoy themselves? That is a big yes!! We got to huddle together and enjoy worship and fellowship and even got to talk to some other students as they passed by so it served as an outreach opportunity, and I think God definitely worked through that.

Below is a picture of a camping trip the staff guys went on. It was freezing but I enjoyed getting to know each of them and relate to them a bit better. We got to explore around a bit and go on a short hike with some neat scenery.

Our last Richland large group meeting we had for the semester is pictured below. We did encouragements where we went around and said, "I have seen (name) show Jesus in (blank) way to those around me, and I encourage you to keep doing so." It was a neat, and vulnerable moment for our students to experience. We even got to sing happy birthday to one of our girls, Rachel. It was a great way to end the semester!

Lastly I ask that you guys be praying for our big event of the year, Winter Camp, which is this weekend. This is a four day retreat we take out in Sky Ranch and one of the most meaningful to our students. Please be praying for....
- Good weather
-That student's hearts may be transformed
-For our guest speakers coming down from Washington state
-For fellowships and friendships being made
-Safe travels

Thank you once again to all my supporters! With out you guys this would not be possible :)
Here is our student testimony for the month, check it out!

  1. Wow Eddie all of this looks so fun! I'm a little jealous that the women don't get to go camping though.
Seriously though, it's so neat that you guys did an outdoor Christmas service at UTD! In spite of the challenges, I'm sure that was a memorable way to show people on campus that there is a thriving community of Christians excited to praise the incarnate Lord.
Keep it up Eddie. Love you!
